Waistcoat: were worn under all men's outergarments. Has a front of fine material and a backing of lining material.

Watteau Gown: a loose sack-dress worn over a tight bodice and very full skirt.

Weepers: white bands worn on the sleeve to indicate deep mourning.

Western: based on the look worn by American cowboys, such as tight jeans, a button-up shirt, high-heeled boots etc.

Wimple: a piece of linen which covered the head, the neck and sides of the face.

Wings: projections which cover shoulder seams of bodices and doublets.
